Job Description

The role of the Consultant Mortgage Advisor is to provide expert mortgage and protection advice to clients.

Our aim is to provide our clients with professional knowledge of the market and excellence in customer service whilst being on hand to help every step of the way.

We are committed to helping customers fully understand the broad range of mortgage financing options available to them and ensuring that our advice is catered to the clients' specific requirements and circumstances. 


Minimum of CeMAP 1, 2 & 3 (orequivalent)  

The ideal candidate will have minimum 5 years experience of working as a Mortgage Consultant/Advisor in either an employed or self employed role.

You will be professional with a flexible approach to diary management and client’s needs.

You will also have a discretional work approach as well as being self-motivated and able to get on with day-to-day tasks as a responsible individual.

Ability to provide simple explanations.  

Report writing, with the ability to explain financial terminology in plain English.

Have detailed knowledge of the FCA and the firm’s record keeping requirements.  

Technical product knowledge in the mortgage and protection arena.  



To provide a mortgage and protection financial advice service to existing clients.  

Generate new prospect clients and leads.

Gather sufficient client information and identify client needs.  

Analyze information gathered and undertake sufficient research to make suitable recommendations.  

Complete all supporting documentation in an accurate manner.  

Ensure that the level of service, as agreed with each client is delivered in a timely manner.  

Attain and maintain competent status as defined by the FCA and the firm.  

Keep up to date with new products, technical or legislative changes within the marketplace.  

Comply at all times with the Compliance and Training; Competence Schemes/Procedures of the firm.  

Comply at all times with the requirements of the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 and the  

FCA’s Principles, Rules and the Code of Practice for Approved Persons.  

Maintain performance standards in accordance with those outlined in the Key Performance Indicators section of the firm’s Training& Competence scheme.  

Via self-assessment and feedback, identify Continuing Professional Development (CPD) needs to maintain and enhance Competent status and undertake appropriate activity to meet those needs.
